Jesse Odin Johannessen

The son of John Johannessen of Malibu and Diane Bronkowski of Arkansas is survived by his sister Shanelle Santisteban and brothers Nathan Johannessen and Paul Wayne Griffith and their families. Jesse died unexpectedly- alone at his home for unknown reasons around 6 PM on February 4th 2017, earlier he had simply complained about not feeling well. The shock of his passing riveted a large community of family and friends from all across this country. Funeral services were held at McCormick & Son Mortuary in Laguna Hills, California on February 11th 20017. His many cousins, nieces and nephews were all heartbroken, and one person after another stood in front of the 220 people at the funeral telling stories of all the joy and happiness Jesse had brought to them. His encouragement to life he shared with everyone over the years gave a new meaning to carry on for each one of us.

Jesse's ashes were then taken to one of his favorite hiking trails called Valido Trail in Laguna Beach. Under a drizzly cloudy sky, his ashes were spread 1/2 mile up the trail in a small clearing with about 40 close friends and family members.
